Now more than ever our Littles and their families need the support of their Bigs. With many of our Littles already facing adversity, they are likely to bear the heaviest burdens of trauma from this pandemic.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson, & Union Counties mentor relationships provide the emotional support, social connections, and the consistency that they need today.

Support of donors like you make it possible to improve the lives of our most vulnerable children by providing them with a committed positive adult role model.

Your donation today will help us directly support children in our communities by keeping them emotionally connected to their mentors and nurturing the strong positive relationships that they have worked so hard to develop.

Your support helps us:

  • recruit new Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers
  • cover the costs of background checks, while ensuring trained professionals match Littles to responsible Bigs
  • enable ongoing supervision and relationship support for every Big, Little and Little’s family
  • provide cultural and social activities to enrich the opportunities for children

$40 – completes a background check on a potential Big to ensure child safety

$100 supports the cost of our volunteer outreach and recruitment efforts to help up attract new mentors for children in need

$125 – recruits, interviews, screens and enrolls a new Big

$250 funds the cost of one comprehensive screening for a potential Big.

$250 – takes a child off of our waiting list

$500 – Mentor training for a new Big and Facilitates the Start Something Big Training for new volunteers that details information in support of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
